2014 Melbourne VMUG User Conference Wrap up

Record attendance

Wow, we had 374 attendees at the Melbourne VMUG User Conference. The awesome turnout to this and other Melbourne VMUG events show’s we’re the premiere VMUG is the region. The steering committee of Craig Waters, Damien Calvert, Tony McPhail, Nathan Wheat and myself put in a huge effort to pull this one off.

Keynotes

International vRockstars Brad Hedlund (@bradhedlund), Chris Wahl (@ChrisWahl) and Scott Lowe (@scott_lowe) rocked it with the main keynotes. It’s such an honour to have talent like that speak at the event.

Audio & Slides Now available

The presentations are available online, and we managed to get a few audio recordings. They’re available in the File Library section of the VMUG website.

If you find the audio recordings useful, let us know so we can do them again next year.

If there’s any presentations we’re missing, let us know.

Community

The local and international VMware community did a great job doing 9 community sessions throughout the day. These guys put a lot of work in creating content and sharing their knowledge. Be sure to check out their slides and their personal websites too.

*Ignore the fact I named some of the files 2013!

Justin Warren did some great interviews with some of the presenters on the day, check out his website (http://www.eigenmagic.com/tag/mvmug) to hear them.

Feedback

If you attended the User Conference, I hope you filled out the feedback survey. If you think there needs to be more storage vendors, better coffee, more content, less content, repeated sessions, we need to know. Which session was your favourite?
